Sports Facilities on Fengxian Campus

The Stadium, completed in 2011, is the most comprehensive building complex with the functions of teaching, training and competition performance. It consists of two buildings, the competition hall and the training hall. The total construction area of the project is 14335 square meters and the total investment is 63.58 million yuan. There are 1852 seats in the competition hall (including 350 mobile seats). The facade of the competition hall is coated with fire-proof and heat-preserving environmental protection paint. It is the the largest, highest standard and most complete comprehensive stadium of East China University of Science and Technology. It has won the Magnolia Award. The 2012 National College Martial Arts Championships and the First National College Competitive Martial Arts Competitions were held here.

The first floor of the training hall is for ball games training with professional sports floors. It is divided into basketball, volleyball, badminton and table tennis halls, as well as a guidance center for students physical fitness test. The Table Tennis Hall is equipped with 16 standard table tennis tables, professional sports floor and lighting equipment, which is the most frequently used venue in the gymnasium. The second floor is gymnastics, martial arts training area and office area. Each independent venue has sufficient lighting. The fitness and rehabilitation lab is also located in the training hall. There are a number of testing equipment that can be used in physical fitness test for students and faculty. The lab also provides scientific research and support for training, guidance and rehabilitation of high-level sports teams in our university. 

To the east of the stadium is the swimming pool, which was put into use in 2019. The designed number of users is 400 (calculated based on 2 square meters per person), with a supporting green area of 1157.74 square meters, and a design service life of 50 years. The swimming pool is divided into a shallow water area of 1.2 meters and a deep water area of 1.8 meters. The thermostatic swimming pool uses 24-hour automatic circulation and automatic dosing to ensure water quality. The swimming pool is managed by a professional team with 24 lifeguards, as well as 12 staff for ensuring water quality, security, cleaning and stoker. A professional property management company is responsible for the daily maintenance and lifesaving work of the swimming pool.

Sports Facilities on Xuhui Campus

The Xuhui Campus is comparatively small. There are a number of different sports venues and facilities, including the indoor stadium, table tennis hall, indoor tennis courts and many outdoor facilities. The stadium was renovated in 1999. The second floor of the stadium is a multi-purpose hall for basketball and badminton with 1,000 seats. On the first floor there are a fitness room and a table tennis training area that can be used for training and teaching. School of Sports Science and Engineering is located here too. The locations and space of the sports facilities are as follows:

3. Outdoor basketball courts: next to No. 1 canteen and No.4 canteen

4. Indoor tennis court: next to the stadium
